The Strengths Engagement Track (SET) Survey
Q: What is SET?
A: The Strengths Engagement Track (or SET) is a 16 question survey that has been designed to determine the extent to which your strengths are engaged at work right now.
Q: How do I take SET?
A:You will find an ID code on the inside jacket of “Go Put Your Strengths to Work” Log onto SimplyStrengths.com, register, enter the code and answer the questions. You will immediately see your individual results. SET codes are only available to people who have purchased the book.

Q: How can I purchase a book?

Q: What should I do if my ID Code doesn’t work?

A: If the ID code you are typing into the log-in field is not working, it may be because you are typing your ID incorrectly. Often people enter their code incorrectly. Letters and numbers such as 0 and O, l and 1, G and 6 are quite similar and can be confusing. Verify your ID by checking it against your book label, and carefully re-enter it into the log-in field, being sure you don't enter any extra spaces. There should be no spaces at the beginning of your ID, at the end, nor anywhere in the middle.

Q: I am having problems accessing or logging on to the website…what do I do?
A:
  1. It could be a bad connection and if so try refreshing the page several times. Try refreshing the page several times or even turning your computer off and on (once), thus restarting it and going back to SimplyStrengths.com
  2. It could also be a firewall / spam issue and if so you would need to contact your computer technician. Some workplaces limit the access of certain websites.
  3. Your computer might not be set to accept cookies. To enable your computer to accept cookies follow the following steps:

Internet Explorer 6.0 and 7.0: Go to the "Tools" menu in Internet Explorer> click "Internet Options." Then, on the "Privacy" tab, select "override.." and select accept first and third party cookies." Click OK. Lastly, kill all browser windows open, then open a new one and attempt to hit site.
Netscape (later versions): Go to the "Tools" menu in Netscape> click on "Options"> click on "Site Controls." Make sure "Allow Cookies" is selected. Click OK. Lastly, kill all browser windows open, then open a new one and attempt to hit site.
FireFox (later versions): Go to the "Tools" menu in FireFox> click on "Options" > click on "Privacy." Click the "Cookies" tab. Make sure "Allow sites to set cookies" is selected. Click OK. Lastly, kill all browser windows open, then open a new one and attempt to hit site.
AOL Browser (later versions): 1. Click on the Settings,Preferences.

  1. Click Internet from By Category section.
  2. Click the Privacy tab.
  3. Default setting is medium. Move the slider to determine which setting

Q: What can I do if my SET code has already been used or I have problems logging-in?

A: Please note that if you have purchased the book from a used book store or borrowed it from a library (or friend, relative, etc.) the code has most likely already been used and the only way to take the SET Assessment is by purchasing the book separately. If you have purchased the book and have problems with the code please ensure you are inputting the code correctly.

Q: What can I do if I cannot access SimplyStrengths.com?

A:

  • Verify network and computer are not blocking access to website (i.e. Firewall and Spyware settings may be set to block access to site; see if user can temporarily disable them and create site as a "Trusted Site")
  • Verify internet browser is going out to the server hosting the application/assessment by clearing cache (internet browser instructions below)

Then, on the "General" tab, under "Browsing History," click "Settings...” Make sure that "Every visit to the page" is selected for "Check for newer versions of stored pages." click OK. Also have user delete Temporary Internet files. Lastly, kill all browser windows open, then open a new one and attempt to hit site.

Also have user delete Temporary Internet files. Lastly, kill all browser windows open, then open a new one and attempt to hit site. Netscape (later versions): Go to the "Tools" menu in Netscape> click on "Options"> click on "Privacy." Then, click on "Cache". Make sure "clear cache on browser exit" is selected. User may choose to "Clear My Tracks on Exit." This will clear all browsing information when user closes browser. This is at top of "Privacy". Lastly, kill all browser windows open, then open a new one and attempt to hit site.
FireFox (later versions): Go to the "Tools" menu in FireFox> click on "Options" > click on "Privacy." Click the "Settings.." button at the bottom that reads: "The clear private data tool can be used to erase your private data using a keyboard shortcut or when FireFox closes. Make sure "cache" is selected. Click "OK". Lastly, kill all browser windows open, then open a new one and attempt to hit site.
AOL Browser (later versions): To turn off TopSpeed:

  • Click Settings on the AOL Toolbar.
  • Click Internet (Web) Options on the Essentials tab.

•Then clear the TopSpeed check box.
To clear the AOL browser cache:

  • Click on either the AOL icon or the Dialer icon on the right of the system tray.
  • Click System Information.
  • Click the Utilities tab.
  • Click Clear Browser Cache.

Lastly, kill all browser windows open, then open a new one and attempt to hit site.

3. Try another computer at a different location (i.e. friend, family member or library)

Q: Can additional SET codes be purchased?

A: SET ID codes are available only through the purchase of selected “Go Put Your Strengths To Work” book publications. The purchase of any one of those publications entitles the buyer to only the single ID code accompanying the publication. No additional ID codes can be purchased separately. Q: How do I access my results once I have already completed the SET Assessment or if I want to return to view my results?
A: If you have already completed the SET Assessment, simply return to StrengthsResearch.com and select "registered user," and log in using your e-mail and password. You will be taken to the page that displays your SET rep
Q: What can I do if I’ve forgotten / lost my ID code and / or password?
A: If you have already accessed the SET Assessment and created a username (e-mail) and password, you no longer need your ID code for future access. Just return to SimplyStrengths.com and log in with your e-mail address and password. If you have not yet created a username and password, please click here.

Q: My employer asked me to participate in the SET Assessment and I have his/her ID code. What do I do next?
A:
  1. Purchase the book – click here to purchase a book.
  2. Retrieve your ID code from inside the book jacket
  3. Go to the following link: SimplyStrengths.com
  4. Type in YOUR Individual ID code in the first input box
  5. Type in the Employer's ID code in the second input box (Referral ID)
Q: What are the steps for administering the SET codes for my TEAM?
A: You will find detailed directions on how to administer SET in the back of “Go Put Your Strengths To Work" There is a color insert, the first page of which is dedicated to explaining SET.
In short, to administer SET for your team:
  • On completion of your Individual SET, you will have the option of inviting your team to complete a Team SET Survey.
  • To set up your Team, email invitations to your Team Members. This invitation will automatically contain your personal ID code, which they will use later to link their results to yours.
  • Provide a copy of the book "Go Put Your Strengths to Work", to each team member.
  • After each individual has retrieved their own ID code from the reverse side of the back jacket of the book, have them go to SimplyStrengths.com to take the SET survey. Your team members will have the option to reference your ID code when they take SET (thus they will be entering 2 codes - their own personal code, and then your code). This will link their results to yours.
  • You will receive an email alert to view your team's participation of the SET survey. When you feel enough team members have completed the SET survey, you may run the Team SET report.

Q: Can you send me the price choices from standard airmail to next-day delivery?

Q: Why can’t I have my products delivered to a P.O. Box address?
A: Unfortunately, shipping companies such as UPS do not deliver to P.O. Box addresses—only to physical addresses. Please provide us with a physical address and we will gladly place and ship your order.

Q: What is your return policy?
A: Should you need to return a product for refund, exchange, or credit, please contact our Customer Service Department. TMBC will not accept returned goods without prior authorization. The customer is responsible for freight on ALL return orders. Products authorized to be returned, on a non-exchange basis, are subject to a 20% restocking fee. Returns will only be accepted within 30 days of the original date of shipment.

Q: What should I do if a product arrives damaged?
A: Always check the contents of your shipment in the presence of the person delivering the merchandise. Should any damage occur, immediately notify UPS so that the necessary steps can be taken to ensure prompt replacement of any damaged goods. Notify TMBC Customer Service Department for instructions on returning damaged goods.
